April vacation 2013 - the first five days

It seems like this upper respiratory illness has been circulating between Paul, Stella and I for a couple of months now.  This past weekend Stella was hit hard by the virus and spiked a fever.  We still headed up to Maine for the first part of April vacation and by Saturday evening Tylenol and Motrin didn't seem to be making a dent in the fever.  "I don't feel well", Stella kept saying, and a cough had started as well.  She was congested and phlegmy and hot.  Saturday night after finally eating something she fell asleep in Paul's arms only to jerk awake suddenly and we thought, have a seizure.  She was unresponsive for a  minute, we weren't sure she was breathing, her eyes were open and unblinking and she didn't respond to us or even appear to hear us.  So she got an ambulance ride to the ER where they treated her fever and gave her some steroids to open her airways.  Then her blood sugar spiked so they admitted her overnight.  After twelve tiring hours she was back to normal, still with a hacking cough, and mad, mad, mad about being in the hospital.  We got back to Babcia and Dzadek's house and spent another couple days hanging out.
We celebrated Oliver's sixteenth birthday.

These are pictures Maria took...

We went to the greenhouse and bought and planted flowers as an anniversary present to Mom and Dad.
