Preparations for the Maria/Hayden birthday extravaganza began days in advance. Yaya and Grandpa arrive just in time to be put to work tying ribbon on the annual birthday CDs, mixing up cake batter and helping to construct the castle cake.

Maria finished making her catapult in time for it to be featured at the party in target practice.

We had a beautiful day for their parties, first at our house for the kindergarten friends and then at the Miskinis' for the family and friend party. Eleven kids ended up coming to the first party and they had a lot of fun playing in the watery obstacle course I set up. They didn't really run the course but does that really matter? After that, pizza outside under the shady tree and inside for cake and presents
