During Christmas time they roast chestnuts over an open fire on the streets and sell them by the bag. When you peel them open they look like green brains-not my favorite.
We are having coffee at a parador, a big fancy hotel, in Toledo. It's the best place to relax and enjoy the view especially if it's about 20 degrees warmer than it was on this day.
Segovia is one of my favorite cities. It has a huge aquaduct that used to carry water from the mountains to the city. In the mountains it runs underground but as it approaches the city it becomes a grand structure.
This view is also in Segovia. It is taken at sunset from the top of the alcazar, an old military fortress, and you can see the cathedral is the tallest structure. I think this is the picture my Dad and I took through my tinted sunglasses.
Maria met tons of relatives
We also went to England during our trip to see my Mom's family.
Where the practically fought over who got to hold Maria. Don't get in the middle of Aunties Anna and Olga!
We didn't do a whole lot of touristy stuff in England but here's us in front of King's College Chapel. This is where we went in and saw "Adoration of the Magi".
Before we left England we broke bread together and toasted with champagne, somthing they normally do on Christmas Eve, to bless and ask for gatherings in the New Year when we will see each other again.
