My first hat

Yesterday I finished knitting a hat for Maria, the first hat I've ever made and she's modeling it for me at the dinner table. My favorite part is the ball on the end of the cord, it's fascinating how a straight piece of yarn can be woven into shapes and patterns. It's even more fascinating when you think about who figured it all out in the first place.
Last night Stella got a bath and we spent quite a bit of time playing in the towel afterwards. We'd wrap the towel around her so just her face peeked out and she'd kick and gurgle and punch her hands back and forth. She has quite the vocal range now and says multi syllable "words". Paul says sometimes it's like she's trying to mimic Tarzan's call as he swings through the forest.
Maria was taking pictures of Stella and I the other night.
