Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas with the family this year and a wonderful, relaxing, four days in Jefferson doing not much of anything and having a great time. We drove up on Christmas Eve Eve at bedtime and pretty much transferred from the car to bed. The next morning Maria and I and Dzadek went up outside to sled and decided the snow was so good we drove a whole 1/2 mile to my sister Tina's house because she has a bigger hill. Tina lives at what used to be my father's parents house, many a sledder has gone down the hill there. It was too impromptu an outing to take a camera but it was so beautiful out that for awhile we laid on our backs to rest and just watched birds pass by in the sky. Stella didn't come sledding but she had amusement enough in the house.
Christmas morning got off to a late start. After 8pm Christmas Eve mass Maria slept until 8:15 by which time we had opened our stockings and then repacked them so it seemed like we had waited for her. We found a place for Stella to hang out so she could watch Maria.
Stella held her own bottle on Christmas Day even though Aunt Diane was there to help and Stella had rice cereal for the first time too!
There was a lot of visiting with the cousins at breakfast and while presents were opened.
One thing we used a lot was the bag of craft stuff that Paul and I gave to Maria. We had lots of materials for making fancy masks and crowns. I was hoping to have a nice picture of the four of us.
We made the decision to stay in Maine until after the blizzard and on December 26th Paul and I snuck away to Freeport to shop for a tent at LL Bean. We made it back before the snow started to fly and the next day this was the scene.
