Yesterday has brought on our first bought of hazy, hot and humid summer heat. Mom and Dad came down for the recital on Friday and stayed until Sunday. Sunday morning Paul and Dad set to work cleaning up some leaves and brush piles in the yard and Mom kept up with cooking and cleaning the kitchen and entertaining Estella. Maria and I did lots of little tasks together, one of which was pulling old flower pots out of the shed. That project stalled when we found a few friends in an old bucket.
The heat of the day didn't really bother us until about four o'clock when we all woke up from a nap and the sun was beating on the house making it a hot mess. So we decided to head to Wason Pond. It was beautiful and breezy there and the sun was behind the tall pine trees so the beach was shaded. We didn't come home from the pond until almost 8:00pm! So much for bed time. Maria plunged in completely, Stella sat at the shore and Paul and I waded a little bit.
