Pre and post Hurricane Sandy

On the eve of hurricane Sandy, when New Hampshire was already under a state of emergency, the Wheelers are blissfully unaware so consumed are we with unpacking boxes.  Thankfully Maria's school calls when school is cancelled and so at 9:00 pm when we check cell phone messages we find out there might be something to be concerned about.  We are so thankful that we didn't even lose power during the storm.  It raged outside our house and the noise made us pause a few times and look up but the most we got was a few flickers.  The weather pre Sandy was pretty nice and on the warm side.  On Saturday  the girls and I went out to explore around the house and leave birdseed for the animals.
The grass is growing!
Walking to the mailbox.

We're number 7.
That's our house you see.
On Monday, as Sandy began, it was raining and we went to visit the Miskinis' and check out Hayden's new big bed.  We came home and made cookies amidst the flickers of electricity.

On Tuesday we went for a walk around our neighborhood and then came home to lunch on the back deck.

On Halloween the girls had school but I did not.  For me that was the most productive day yet!  The Miskinis' came over for our first dinner party and we lit the pumpkins that Maria and I had carved on Tuesday.

Love the spice drawer!
