February vacation 2013

We had a very quiet, very snowy February vacation.  The first weekend we hung around home and had a play date with a couple of Maria's friends, Jordyn and Danielle.  The girls made super chocolatey cookies and box towers that they tipped over, played games and had lunch.  It snowed beautifully on that day, it was a snow globe day.

Tuesday was a sunny day and we fit in a riding lesson at Windhaven before heading to Maine.  Stella was super excited that she got to ride Britches and Maria took her picture for her.

Because one snow storm after another was supposed to come in on Wednesday and last through the rest of the week the girls and I went to Jefferson a littler earlier then we had planned.  I think it snowed every day for five days in a row.  It never amounted to much, often the snow that fell would melt by the next storm but it just never stopped and it made the roads perpetually slippery.  We hung in a lot although on Friday there was a break and we went to Damariscotta to the book store where Babcia treated us to hot chocolate and a new book each.

Stella spent a lot of time on the floor with Aba reading and singing to her.  Aba was very tolerant, perhaps because she was in a continuous food coma from all the extra food that was subtly, or not so subtly, dropped on the floor or pushed off of the table.  Stella knows where the dog biscuits are and helps herself to them whenever she feels Aba needs a snack.
