Early July 2013

The end of the school year and our camping trip made for a whirlwind end to June.  The first part of July has been slow and lazy, up late, sleep late.  Today is the third day of an official heat wave and it was expected to feel like 100 degrees.  As opposed to the last two days it's not mid afternoon and it's clouding up, we might see a storm today.  We've been making use of AC inside the house and hunkering down with a lot of art projects specifically painting.  We even started an art gallery going down the stairs for all of it.

Our wading pool outside has gotten a lot of use although we've also been frequenting the water park, the Miskinis' pool and the pond.

The first round of swim lessons just ended too.  Estella's progress report said she can get into and out of the pool.  She made very little progress being a little nervous about her teacher-for no good reason.  Maria completed Youth Level 2 and is promoted to the next level.  She is an amazing swimmer, very confident, swims and floats on her back and front, treads water, dunks her head, jumps in water over her head and surfaces, she's doing great.  Here she's jumping off of the life guard stand to her instructor.

We have had a grill for a few weeks now too.  We had steak tacos for dinner last night.
