Mandala

I just found these photos on our camera and realized I never posted them. Last weekend Paul, Susanne, Maria and I went to a place in Newmarket where some Buddist monks were visiting and they had created a mandala out of sand. We weren't able to see them creating it but the lady there said that three of them had spent eight hours a day for five days bent over it, head to head, with special tools that dropped a couple grains of sand at a time. The day after we were there there was going to be a special ceremony to destroy it-less than 24 hours after they had finished it.
