made gazpacho and spaghetti sauce and tomato bisque with tomatoes, cucumbers and garlic from the garden, pesto with all the basil, chocolate/zucchini cake- it was a lot of preparation but we ate well and stocked our fridge for the week.
Of course Estella got passed around to everyone in the family, many hands make for light work.
On Friday and Saturday nights Paul and Maria camped outside in our tent, something Maria's been wanting to do all summer. We had a small campfire and made smores.
On Sunday we went to St. Denis for church and met Fr. Martin who wrote a letter on our behalf to a church in England where we plan on getting Estella christened. It was great to see some old friends that we don't meet up with too often and on the way home Maria said, "I had fun there, can we go again?"
Estella continues to pack on the ounces and outgrow newborn clothes and although we know she's capable of sleeping for five hour stints so far its happened as part of a car ride which means we don't get to capitalize on all that sleep. I'm holding out for Labor Day weekend which marks the beginning of school for Maria and hopefully the return of nap time for me since I won't be juggling two opposing nap times. Of course, if she's tired she can sleep anywhere
