Ocean beach and blueberries

Last Friday we went to North Hampton State Park and met up with old friends and also made some new ones. There was a cooler breeze on the coast and that, combined with the ocean water and some ice cream, brought some relief to the heat. Maria had a blast racing into and out of the surf and jumping over the rolling waves. This in sharp contrast to last year when she wanted to go home because the sound of the waves was too loud. Two other little girls, Audrey and Avery whom we met long ago, helped us make a row of sandcastles.

Jacob, obviously tired from racing in circles at the concert the night before, spent quite a lot of time reclining in this hole with his dump truck.

After lunch and before we left I wheeled Hayden and Maria across the street to the Beach Plum for chocolate and strawberry ice cream.

Yesterday we went to Wason Pond for three hours and I think we were in the water for two hours and forty minutes. Maria loves the warm water (I think it offers little relief from the heat) and tired herself out jumping onto her kick board and swimming inside her inflatable ring. Griffin was there with us too, getting used to the water.

Today we went to the Pim's to pick blueberries which didn't last as long as hoped since the heat and humidity made us all sweaty and hot-even in the shade. Maria took these two pictures of the outing.
