Summer fun continues

The second child is so different in so many ways, of course. Estella has pooped on me twice this week, Maria never did that. With the second child you don't have the luxury of standing over her, watching her every move, like analyzing fish in a fish bowl, and I think that's healthier. It means you don't agonize over every sneeze, evaluate every poop, and panic over every red mark on their body. Estella has been out and about a lot this week as we visit with friends and run off Maria's energy. First we went to Hampton Beach for the afternoon on Thursday to visit with the Nowlans as this was their yearly week at the beach.
On Friday Paul went to work and it was my first solo day with Maria and Estella. We went to the playground at Wason for a couple of hours. The weather was perfect, sunny, dry and not too warm. The picture of Maria was taken in August of 2007 so she was probably close to a month old.
In the evening yesterday we went to the Deerfield concert in the park with Shawn, Eilah and Olivia Crawn. Wow did it get chilly towards the end! And noticeably darker too than only a month ago. Olivia and Estella were parked side by side while Eilah and Maria played on the playground.
A dragonfly was buzzing around at the park and crawled onto Paul's finger for closer observation.
Eilah and Maria did a little sticker booking and coloring for about five minutes before they needed to race around the lawn area barefoot again.
I couldn't resist this picture. Looking at her makes me tired. The grass is always greener in someone else's bed. Another reason to take the baby out, hours of fresh air and kids playing around her mean a two hour nap for Mama as well as the babies.
