England 2014 II

Although we spent a lot of time in the village we did venture to Fowlmere one day to see the memorial to the U.S. Air Force on the fields where, during WWII there was an air field on the Sheldrick's Manor Farm.  While we were there we managed to make contact with Martin Sheldrick and had tea with his wife and him.  Mom and Martin had a lot of memories to share and exchange and Martin had some pictures to show Mom of the old barracks and fields where she lived and worked when she was young.  Uncle Cola was even in two pictures in a book about Fowlmere history.

We ventured a little further one evening with Alison to London.  Mom wanted to go on the London Eye and even though it was rainy we still had a good time.

Did I mention we had three roast dinners?  One at The Green Man at the beginning of our trip...

Then we went back to The Green Man at the end of the week for fish and chips and mushy peas.
