Hampton Beach is not worth it.
Yesterday morning, after giving Paul a couple hours to work on the newest shelving for the downstairs room, we all headed out to Hampton Beach with the Miskinis' and Susanne to see the results of the sand castle sculpting competition. I have never been as impressed with the sand castles as I was the very first year that I saw them but it made for a good excuse to go to the ocean beach. Maria was uncertain about going to the ocean beach, "Whales live there, we can't go" is what she said about entering the ocean. But we did go and so did a lot of other people. The crowds weren't actually that bothersome at first. It wasn't until after lunch and playing in the water and building sand castles that we turned around and noticed the dark clouds approaching. Hmmm-time to head out I think. We got to the sidewalk before it started raining, and so did a lot of other people. It took fifteen minutes for Maria to go potty in the back of the car waving to cars and bicycles and dogs with her pink sunglasses on and chatting away to me as if she was giving commentary on a sporting event. Finally on our way into the bumper to bumper traffic we got home 2 hours and fifteen minutes after we initially left the beach. Hampton Beach is not worth that amount of time. Here are a few pictures of our outing.
